On 13 July, a Beechcraft B200 King Air, carrying registration PH-ZAZ, banked to the left immediately upon departure and crashed. The aircraft, owned by Zeusch Aviation BV, departed Southend Airport, United Kingdom, with Lelystad, The Netherlands, as its destination. It burst into flames immediately after impact.
“We can confirm there has been a serious incident at London Southend Airport this afternoon involving a general aviation aircraft. We are working closely with the local authorities and will be able to provide more information as soon as possible,” London Southend Airport tweeted.
Four people died in the crash, including a member of KLM staff. Authorities believe all four occupants were foreign nationals, though their identities have not yet been released.
