An Alphajet of the Patrouille de France crashes on landing in Perpignan, the pilot is slightly wounded


The pilot could eject before the crash and is slightly injured

An AlphaJet (#2) of the Patrouille de France made a runway excursion during landing at the airport of Perpignan-Rivesaltes, late this morning (25 July).

Around 11:30, the aircraft ended its flight on a departmental road; its pilot could eject before the crash and is slightly injured. The pilot survives with dislocation of the shoulder and lumbar trauma.

According to the prefecture of Pyrénées-Orientales, no other victim is to deplore.

The AlphaJet had to participate in an air show in the afternoon in Saint-Cyprien. The investigation will have to determine the reasons for this crash which could be due to material failure.

The firefighters intervened on-site to control the beginning of brush fire near the plane.
