All six people aboard a medical Piper PA-31T Cheyenne II plane (registered CC-CCC) that crashed shortly after takeoff near Santiago, Chile, have been confirmed dead.
A Chilean Air Force Black Hawk helicopter located the wreckage in a remote, mountainous area of Curacaví, about 40 km west of the capital. The plane had been en route to Arica when contact was lost on the evening of May 8.
Among the victims, in addition to two pilots and three medical staff, was a patient being transported for medical reasons.
