A private plane with eight people on board was traveling to Vilankulos-Kruger Park, South Africa and crashed on Tuesday morning without causing human casualties in Vilanculos district, Bazaruto Island, in Inhambane, Mozambique.

The accident occurred around 11:40 p.m. during the takeoff, the aircraft failed to meet the climb and crashed into the canopy of a small tree. Seven occupants were injured, three of whom were in need of medical care and have been evacuated to treatment in neighbouring South Africa.

In a primary assessment, the National Institute of Civil Aviation of Mozambique points to adverse weather conditions and overweight as likely causes of the air crash.
