On 19 June, a Tecnam P92 microlight aircraft, registered OO-H18 crashed near the E40 motorway at Walshoutem, Belgium.

This Tecnam P92, owned by Aéro Club de Hesbaye based at Hannut (EBAV) crashed at ~14:00L near Landen and caught fire just after hitting the ground.

Two people have been injured, the pilot and a passenger, but are not in danger.

The fire has been extinguished by the firefighters and the motorway to Liège had to be closed to make the area safe.

The aircraft had departed from Hesbaye Flying Club, had engine problems and tried to land in the grass between the motorway and the high speed line without success (via VRT NWS), and a witness said that the aircraft stalled twice. (via RTLinfo)

The accident had no impact on railway traffic on HSL2/LGV2, close to the P92.
