Japanese Defense Ministry sources say an Air Self-Defense Force F35A fighter jet disappeared from radar at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday 9 April, Japan time.
The F-35A went missing about 135 kilometers off base, and crashed most probably into the Pacific Ocean.
