The Italian Air Force’s famed aerobatic team, the Frecce Tricolori, celebrated its 65th anniversary on 6–7 September 2025 at Rivolto Air Base in Udine with a spectacular international air show.
Since its founding, the team has logged 15,000+ flight hours and performed over 1,500 air shows worldwide, becoming a global symbol of precision, professionalism, and teamwork. Flying the iconic Aermacchi MB-339, the Frecce Tricolori impressed crowds with displays that connect aerobatic skill to the tactical discipline of modern fighter operations.
The anniversary also welcomed aerobatic and demo teams from Allied and partner nations, with contributions from the Croatian, Finnish, French, Turkish, Spanish, and Swiss Air Forces.
More than just a show, the event underscored the synergy between aerobatics and combat readiness, demonstrating how precision flying directly supports NATO’s mission of collective defence.
The celebration was both a tribute to tradition and a powerful display of Allied solidarity, highlighting the enduring role of aerobatic teams in strengthening international cooperation and air force capability.
