A U.S. Navy MH-60S Seahawk helicopter assigned to the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) made an emergency water landing in the Arabian Sea early on Wednesday, leaving one crew member missing.

Three of the helicopter’s four crew members were rescued and are reported to be in stable condition aboard the aircraft carrier. U.S. Navy aircraft and ships are continuing search-and-rescue operations for the fourth crew member.

The U.S. military said there is no indication the helicopter was brought down by hostile action. The USS George H.W. Bush has been deployed in the Middle East since April as part of the United States’ ongoing military presence in the region.
