On June 26, 2025, Russia’s MC-21-310 test aircraft (a fully Russian-equipped airliner with registration RA-73055) completed its first flight under a supplemental certification testing programme at Ramenskoye Airport. The four-hour flight focused on evaluating the aircraft’s radio communication systems.
Two aircraft—RA-73055 and RA-73057—will participate in the broader testing campaign, covering systems such as fire protection, hydraulics, fuel, and anti-icing.
Future tests will take place across Russia, including natural icing trials in Arkhangelsk and shimmy testing in Ulyanovsk. The MC-21-310 requires 220–230 test flights for certification. Aircraft 73055 is nearly all domestic, with only a few imported components that will be replaced in later versions. Certification is targeted for fall 2026, with customer deliveries to follow.
