Embraer has delivered the second C-390 Millennium to the Hungarian Air Force, completing the country’s contracted fleet and making Hungary the first nation to receive all ordered aircraft. The handover took place on 21 November at Kecskemét Air Base in the presence of Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky and senior Embraer officials.
Hungary, which became the C-390’s second NATO operator, has already logged a mission completion rate above 99% with its first aircraft since it entered service in late 2024. The new twin-jet transport further expands the Air Force’s capability portfolio, filling what Szalay-Bobrovniczky described as a long-standing gap in national defence.
Embraer Defence & Security CEO Bosco da Costa Junior called the milestone a testament to the aircraft’s performance and cost-efficiency, emphasising continued cooperation with Hungary.
The multi-mission C-390s will support a wide range of military and civilian operations, including medical evacuation, humanitarian relief, troop and cargo transport, precision airdrops, paratrooper deployment and air-to-air refuelling. Hungary’s fleet is also the first to be equipped with modular roll-on/roll-off ICU units, enabling advanced airborne medical care.
