With the roar of the engines, the second ARJ21 aircraft (Registration No.: B-3322) delivered to Chengdu Airlines flew from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport with 63 passengers to conduct the first commercial flight at 9:45 am on October 13th, 2016. The aircraft landed at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport successfully at 11:59 am.

Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC), the main organization for implementing trunk liner program and the main carrier in overall planning the development of trunk liner and regional jet and realizing the industrialization of civil aircraft in China, delivered the second ARJ21 aircraft to Chengdu Airlines in Shanghai on September 29th, 2016. It was reported that the B-3322 aircraft passed the supplementary operation certification of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Southwest Regional Administration and completed the signing of relevant provisions of Operational Specification on October 12th, 2016. CAAC Southwest Regional Administration certified that the production assurance team of ARJ21-700 aircraft met the operating requirements, the discrepancy revision of manuals and the training of professional staff had been completed, and the aircraft was permitted to formally enter the commercial operation since October 13th, 2016.

Unlike the all economy-class cabin configuration of the first delivered ARJ21 aircraft, the second ARJ21 aircraft is in mixed class configuration. It has seats for 78 passengers, and includes a first class/business class section and an economy class section. This provides a new option for the passengers. COMAC listens to the customers’ opinions and market feedback in a timely manner after the delivery for operation of the first ARJ21 aircraft, and constantly optimizes and improves local details of the cockpit, etc., so as to improve the experience of passengers and provide support for the route operation.

According to the latest information, B-3322 aircraft will fly to Zhuhai at the end of this month to perform demonstration flight and static ground display at the opening ceremony of the Zhuhai Airshow on November 1st and during the exhibition day and come into contact with professional visitors.
