On Sunday 5 August, a Cessna 414 (N727RP) crashed on a parking lot near South Coast Plaza, a shopping mall in Costa Mesa, California. Rescue services rushed to the scene but could only determine the death of the five passengers.

The Cessna 414 is a light, pressurized, twin-engine transport aircraft and was flying from Concord, California to John Wayne Airport (SNA), Santa Ana, California.

The pilot declared an emergency just before approaching John Wayne Airport, the NTSB has started an investigation.

Weird but true: shortly after the crash, the shopping mall promoted famous sunglasses on their instagram account. A matter of bad timing.

The writing is on the wall as to why we love these @dolcegabbana sunglasses #DGEyewear @ South Coast Plaza
