Cessna Citation Ascend enters service, raising the bar in the midsize business jet segment

Share

Textron Aviation has marked a key milestone with the entry into service of the Cessna Citation Ascend, following delivery of the first aircraft to a retail customer on December 30. The milestone comes just weeks after the aircraft received FAA type certification in November 2025.

Launched in 2023, the Citation Ascend introduces a fully redesigned cockpit, enhanced performance and a spacious flat-floor cabin, building on the proven legacy of the Citation 560XL series, which has seen more than 1,000 deliveries since 2000.

The new Garmin G5000 flight deck is a central feature, offering autothrottle capability, advanced flight-envelope protection, synthetic vision, dual flight management systems and high-resolution 14-inch displays. Optional connectivity solutions, including CPDLC and Iridium data links, support more efficient transatlantic operations, while real-time diagnostics improve aircraft availability.

Passenger comfort has also been significantly enhanced. The Ascend accommodates up to 12 passengers and features larger cabin windows, advanced acoustic insulation, customizable interiors and wireless control of cabin systems. Multiple high-speed connectivity options ensure continuous productivity in flight.

Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545D engines, the aircraft delivers a maximum speed of 441 knots and a four-passenger range of 1,940 nautical miles, combining performance with improved fuel efficiency. An onboard Honeywell APU supports quieter and more efficient ground operations.

Textron Aviation is supporting the Ascend with a comprehensive global aftermarket network, offering 24/7 assistance, extended maintenance intervals and industry-leading warranty coverage. With its blend of modern avionics, cabin comfort and operational efficiency, the Citation Ascend positions itself as a new benchmark in the midsize business jet market.
