Eight people remain hospitalised—three in critical condition and five in serious condition—following a skydiving plane crash near Cross Keys Airport (17N) in southern New Jersey on Wednesday evening.
The Cessna 208B Supervan 900 registered N716MM, carrying 14 passengers and one crew member, reported engine trouble shortly after takeoff from runway 27 and crashed into a wooded area while attempting to return to the airport.
All hospitalised individuals sustained blunt force trauma, including soft tissue and limb injuries. Some passengers were exposed to jet fuel and required decontamination.
The plane, leased by Skydive Cross Keys and owned by ARNE Aviation of Virginia, was heavily damaged. Authorities called it “remarkable” that all 15 people survived. The FAA and NTSB have launched investigations into the crash.
