The Britten-Norman Islander production line in development at Bembridge, Isle of Wight

Britten-Norman has reached a key milestone in its plan to fully relocate Islander aircraft production to its Bembridge facility on the Isle of Wight, UK. More than half of the first UK-built Islander has now been assembled, marking the return of full aircraft manufacturing to Britain after years of partial overseas production.

The company expects wing assembly to be completed later in 2025, with final assembly in early 2026 and first delivery in spring 2026. Backed by new investment, Britten-Norman has expanded its workforce by over 40% in the past year, modernised its facilities with advanced CNC technology, and strengthened after-sales support for operators.

With nearly 1,300 Islanders delivered worldwide, demand remains strong across passenger transport, cargo, surveillance, and special missions. The reshoring of production positions Britten-Norman to ramp up output and provide operators with greater access to newly built Islanders in the coming years.
