Bombardier Global 8000 becomes the World’s fastest business jet with new Mach 0.95 top speed

Share

Bombardier has announced that its flagship Global 8000 business jet will now reach a top speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde and the fastest business jet ever built. The milestone was unveiled at the 2025 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas.

Set to enter service in 2025, the Global 8000 combines record speed, an industry-leading range of 8,000 nautical miles, and best-in-class runway performance—allowing access to up to 30% more airports than competing models. The aircraft’s first production unit completed its inaugural flight in May 2025 and is now undergoing interior completion and final certification.

Éric Martel, President and CEO of Bombardier, said:

“With our Bombardier Global 8000, our customers will now be able to reach their destinations even faster, arriving refreshed and ready to carry out their missions.”

Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Development, added:

“This achievement showcases our team’s innovation, expertise, and commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance and comfort.”

Beyond its unmatched speed, the Global 8000 offers exceptional passenger comfort, featuring four true living spaces, a dedicated crew rest area, the longest seated length in its class, and an ultra-low cabin altitude for improved wellness on long flights.

With its combination of Mach 0.95 speed, ultra-long range, and refined cabin design, Bombardier positions the Global 8000 as the ultimate “time machine” for global travellers — redefining performance in the ultra-long-range business jet category.
