Bombardier has completed the first delivery of its flagship Global 8000 business jet to NetJets, marking the aircraft’s entry into service with its launch customer.
NetJets will ultimately operate a fleet of 24 Global 8000 jets and plans to upgrade its existing Global 7500 aircraft to the new standard. The handover took place at Bombardier’s completion centre in front of employees and guests.
Positioned as the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde, the Global 8000 offers a top speed of Mach 0.95 and a range of 8,000 nautical miles, enabling ultra-long-haul nonstop routes. It also features one of the lowest cabin altitudes in business aviation, aimed at improving passenger comfort.
The aircraft introduces a four-zone cabin layout and advanced wing design, allowing access to more airports while maintaining performance comparable to smaller jets. Bombardier highlights its combination of speed, range, and luxury as setting a new benchmark in the business aviation segment.
