Boeing has secured a new Lot 12 contract from the U.S. Air Force for 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus aerial refuelling aircraft, valued at $2.47 billion, the company announced Tuesday. The award brings the global total of KC-46A tankers on contract or in service to 183.
“Getting on contract helps ensure production stability, including our long-lead supply chain, to continue delivering the unmatched capability of the KC-46A,” said Jake Kwasnik, Boeing’s vice president and KC-46 programme manager.
The U.S. Air Force fleet alone has now logged more than 150,000 flight hours, underscoring heavy operational use across training missions, deployments, and global refuelling operations.
Of the 183 aircraft on contract worldwide, 98 have been delivered to the U.S. Air Force, six to the Japan Air Self-Defence Force, and four are contracted for the Israel Air Force.
The KC-46A continues to receive capability upgrades, including mission readiness enhancements awarded in 2024 that improve communications, data connectivity and situational awareness. Boeing says these improvements will ensure the Pegasus remains the world’s most advanced multi-mission aerial refueler for U.S. and allied forces.
