Boeing and Air Cambodia have announced the Southeast Asian carrier’s first-ever order for Boeing aircraft, signing an agreement for up to 20 Boeing 737 MAX jets at the Singapore Airshow.
The airline confirmed a firm order for 10 Boeing 737-8 aircraft in December 2025, with options for an additional 10 jets. The deal had previously been listed as unidentified on Boeing’s Orders and Deliveries website.
Air Cambodia plans to use the fuel-efficient 737-8 to modernise and expand its fleet, supporting new direct routes across North and Southeast Asia. The aircraft offers a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 km) and can carry up to 178 passengers in a two-class configuration, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions by around 20 percent compared to older-generation aircraft.
According to CEO Dr David Zhan, the investment will allow the airline to grow its network, offer more competitive fares, and create local jobs and training opportunities.
Air Cambodia currently operates a fleet of six single-aisle and regional aircraft, serving domestic routes and international destinations including Vietnam, India, Thailand, China, Japan, and Hong Kong.
