“Made in Niagara” milestone strengthens sustainable aerial tourism over the Falls

Niagara Helicopters has officially completed its fleet modernisation program with the delivery of four new Airbus H130 helicopters, marking a major milestone for both the operator and Airbus Helicopters in Canada. The renewed fleet will continue supporting Niagara Helicopters’ world-famous aerial tours over Niagara Falls, enhancing passenger comfort while reducing environmental impact.

Celebrated during a ceremony at Airbus’s Fort Erie facility, the event brought together employees, community leaders, and aviation partners.

“For more than 60 years, Niagara Helicopters has showcased the beauty of Niagara Falls from above,” said Anna Pierce, Vice President and General Manager of Niagara Helicopters. “The H130 is the ideal aircraft for our operation — offering comfort, visibility, and performance that allow us to deliver truly memorable tours.”

Dwayne Charette, President of Airbus Helicopters in Canada, highlighted the local connection: “We are honoured that these Airbus helicopters — completed right here in Fort Erie — continue to play a role in the Niagara story. This is a true ‘Made in Niagara’ success.”

Powered by a Safran Arriel 2D engine, the H130 offers best-in-class visibility, seating for up to seven passengers, and a low acoustic footprint thanks to Airbus’s Fenestron shrouded tail rotor — a key advantage for operations near environmentally sensitive and heavily visited sites.

Niagara Helicopters has flown millions of passengers from around the world, and with its new H130 fleet, it continues to set the benchmark for safe, sustainable, and premium air tours in Canada’s tourism landscape.
