This original late 1960’s test specimen Concorde nose cone section, complete with pilots visor and internal hydraulic rams for its operation is for sale on Thursday, 20 June. Auctioneers Humbert & Ellis LTD said that the public sale “has already generated world curiosity”.
The 24.5ft (7.5m)-long “droop” nostril cone is at present in Kansas Metropolis, Missouri, housed in a specially-built glass unit. The auctioneers have set the value of the nose cone between £200,000 and £300,000.
