On Thursday morning, air traffic at Brussels Airport was disturbed for airlines working with handling agent Swissport. Due to understaffing and a licensing issue, an extraordinary staff meeting was organised. As a result, Swissport handling got interrupted by 30 minutes (*). Around 50 flights got delayed and passengers had to wait longer to collect their luggage at arrivals.
Shortly before noon, Swissport staff resumed work. Swissport’s COO talked to the employees and promised to tackle the issues. According to the trade unions, no new actions are planned for the time being.
