A 70-year-old man died in a glider crash at the Suhl-Goldlauter airfield on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred shortly after takeoff.
The pilot, who was flying alone, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was part of a travel group from the Netherlands. A crisis intervention team is providing support to witnesses of the incident.
The police are conducting an investigation into the crash.
