A B737 of TUI collapsed through its nose wheel after it arrived from Malaga. It happened at the A pier
Re: TUI Airline in 2025
At Gate A59, to be accurate: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/tui- ... s-airport/

“Collapse” is probably not accurate either.sn26567 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2025, 23:30At Gate A59, to be accurate: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/tui- ... s-airport/
Photo’s show the aircraft’s doors were open, so inadvertent/accidental retraction is a lot more plausible!

OO-JAR is back on their wheels!
From the official TUI statement: “We will carry out an in-depth analysis of the situation in consultation with the authorities, but we can already confirm that no technical problem is at the origin of this incident.”

It was a human error by a TUI-mechanic

Re: TUI Airline in 2025
Tui fly is apparently still experiencing many technical problems with 2 of its 3 Embraer E195-E2 jets. For weeks now, only 1 aircraft (OO-ETC) has been operational in ANR.

They are not experiencing « many technical problems », they are waiting for new engines.Boeing767copilot wrote: ↑24 Jan 2025, 20:01 Tui fly is apparently still experiencing many technical problems with 2 of its 3 Embraer E195-E2 jets. OO-TMT, a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 will leave Everett Paine Field today at 15h00 p.m. local time / 00h00 a.m in Belgium (JAF091F)

After many months of inactivity, OO-ETA restarted scheduled flights today with a flight BRU-TetuanBoeing767copilot wrote: ↑24 Jan 2025, 20:01 Tui fly is apparently still experiencing many technical problems with 2 of its 3 Embraer E195-E2 jets. Re: TUI Airline in 2025
The last remaining TUI BE 787 will be moved to another TUI Airline as from next winter. No more TUI long haul from BRU by Winter 25/26.
E2´s next?
E2´s next?
Re: TUI Airline in 2025
I believe that the Belgians prefer to go on holiday a few times per year on a closer destination then long haul.
And it comes back to other people's wishes to have flights to South America etc, if there is no demand or very low, there will be no flights.
TUI, besides the fact that they need to be more financially healthy again, is showing the actual status, the limited wallet of Belgians.
Where is the time that they offered a wide range of long haul. Times are changing
Re: TUI Airline in 2025
Yes and no. Long haul has never been profitable for TUI out of BRU. It has always been a prestige project, nothing else.Atlantis wrote: ↑05 Feb 2025, 17:52I believe that the Belgians prefer to go on holiday a few times per year on a closer destination then long haul.

Belgians have money to spend for their holidays, but not for those destinations. Why would you go to PUJ/CUR while you can find better within the EU?
TUI made poor choices for their airlines, it's only the beginning of more bad news.
(Btw, the long haul ops at TUI NL are also being evaluated...there is more and more competition and TUI NL is not doing good either on this market).
Re: TUI Airline in 2025
Oh wow. Sad news though. BRU is losing it's connection with the Carribbean...
I remember reading in the news that the Dreamliner had some issues quite a lot. They also don't have a spare aircraft of course.
Maybe Air Belgium should try again
.
Jokes aside, they flew to Dom Rep twice weekly, which is the most touristic destination in the area. Would be nice if someone could fill that gap. SN in winter when they have planes left anyway? In partnership with TUI and Neckermann and Corendon?
No more connection to Jamaica, Mexico, Curacao, Cuba and Dom Rep.

Re: TUI Airline in 2025
Yeah, if SN cancels 3 LH flights a day, there is nothing in the news.
But if a TUI 787 goes AOG, it's in the news all over the place.
It's not more unreliable than a 333 at SN... at all.
Re: TUI Airline in 2025
This is day dreaming, but it would be nice indeed to have SN teaming up with TUI and other TO's on a twice weekly BRU-PUJ-CUN-BRU and why not at a later stage integrating Mombasa and Zanzibar on the East African network.
Having the same strategy than on medium haul with all those flight to TFS, LPA and HER on wich more than half of the seat are already sold to tour Operator could secure a part of the income.
I'm not talking about all the "broll" in the caribean but just the 2 main destinations on the belgian market wich could work with the right partner like TUI.
But let's get back on earth there is better thing to do in Africa with the A330's nr12 and nr13 even if not having all the egg in the same basket should also be something to look at.
Re: TUI Airline in 2025
Maybe TUI made the mistake of sticking to Boeing aircraft too long. The Embraers were a nice addition and a sign that they could adapt to the circumstances, such as a short runway at Antwerp. If there are not enough passengers to fill a 787-8, they should have anticipated and looked at Airbus and its A321LR or XLR. It is not yet too late.

Corendon, Eurowings discover, Condor ... let the party begin.

Switching to Airbus would mean deliveries in years from now.
They decided to get rid of good & reliable NG's after the covid crisis, now they're surprised they can't get new planes on time and they are in trouble because the leasing rates of their current fleet are increasing significantly.
TUI's management changed completely, airlines don't have much to say anymore, all major decisions are at group level now.
Result; Approx 10 737 less in TUI BE's fleet, no more 787's, creation of Fly4 (which cannot grow because they are unable to get extra aircraft from anywhere), lots of doubtful third party carriers (Bulgaria Air, Fly2sky, ETF Airways, Getjet Airlines, and so on and so on)...
The competition must be very happy of TUI's choices, that's for sure.
