If now Air China would decide to start up flights from Chengdu to Brussels, that would be just great. Together with a higher frequency of ANA
Re: BRU Summer 2025: news, new routes, airlines
And a connection with India should be there too in my opinion.

Even if it's negative, they'll announce it?
Hasta la victoria siempre.

Re: BRU Summer 2025: news, new routes, airlines
Either Air China or Hainan Airlines.
Since it has become complicated for European airlines to fly to China due to Russia, Chinese airlines are taking the lead. Milan was recently launched from Chengdu with Air China, which already has a strong presence in Milan. Chengdu also connects to Vienna with Hainan Airlines.
Hainan Airlines has a solid presence in Brussels; it’s almost a hub. But Air China is also active in Belgium at LGG, and with the cargo synergy and local teams in place, it could facilitate a Chengdu-Brussels route.
We’ll see—either Air China or Hainan—but I strongly believe it will happen

2025 looks promising, a couple of new routes already announced. If we see how the Asian market is/would be served from BRU. Who would thought couple of years ago..
Hainan, Singapore, Thai, Cathay.
The North American market is still a challenge. Even a 2 daily New York is hard work. What are the reasons? Ok we have Atlanta back, but a lot of routes are going seasonal.

On North America, the competition is very hard. But, NY is one of the best long hauls in number of pax ex BRU.SabenaForever wrote: ↑06 Dec 2024, 17:02 2025 looks promising, a couple of new routes already announced. Three airlines are flying on it: UA to Newark, 2 times daily during Summer, SN and DL. Those are 4 daily flights.
Those of UA have mainly 2 purposes. Feeder for SN to Africa and all diplomats.
However, and I keep saying it, an evening flight to NY would be better and this year round
Re: BRU Summer 2025: news, new routes, airlines
Maybe Sibiu, Romania, in the future? The airport wants to grow in the near future with it's 3 airline partners. They mentioned BRU as an unserved route.
Re: BRU Summer 2025: news, new routes, airlines
Easyjet will offer new flights into BRU both from LIN and FCO this summer

The point to point market Brussels North America is not very high if we compare with some others cities in Europe.Atlantis wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024, 00:00On North America, the competition is very hard. So you have to rely on connecting passengers either via Brussels with United Airlines / Brussels Airlines with African market (ex : Dakar - Brussels - New York)
Or either beyond US Cities withUnited Airlines / Brussels Airlines with African market (ex : Kigali - Brussels - Washington - Houston) or either direclty from or to Brussels with a North American airline (ex : Brussels - Atlanta - Los Angeles or BRU - Montreal - San Fransico).
And of course you have to add the competition from BRU : Air Franca via the train, KLM, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus. And also the other Star Alliance airlines which provide good capacity : Lufthansa, Swiss, TAP Air Portugal. I don't know if Brussels Airlines can catch a huge number of passengers flying between North America and Europe.
In the peak period is probably good, but during the low season it becomes more complicated to fill the plane. Howver it's same thing in all Europe. November - early december and January - early March are not a peak period for the demand with United States. Many North America and European airlines reduce flights or suspend flights.
Below
The point to point demand between North America and Brussels (pax who fly either directly from or to BRU or either via another hub in Europe or North America), from Nov 23 to Oct 24.
I put some data from others airports. Zurich, CDG, Amsterdam,....a biggest point to point market (with many pax that also can continue their journey beyond North American hub) but also they can rely on their long haul network via their home carriers or partners (airlines from Asia or Africa).
BRU New York JFK : 148 878 pax (CDG JFK : 853 770 pax)
BRU Newark : 80 565 pax
BRU Montreal : 66 650 pax
BRU Washington : 51 148 pax
BRU Los Angeles : 41 869 pax (CDG LAX : 366 677 pax)
BRU San Fransisco : 39 474 pax (London Heathrow San Francisco : 678 814 pax)
BRU Miami : 34 645 pax (Miami Madrid : 280 295 pax)
BRU Boston : 33 134 pax (Zurich Boston : 74 471 pax)
BRU Toronto : 31 352 pax (Lisbon Toronto : 203 192 pax)
BRU Chicago : 30 874 pax (Amsterdam Chicago : 95 481 pax)
