Austrian Airlines receiving first A320neo

As reported by several private sources and German aviation portal Aerotelegraph, Austrian Airlines gets its first A320neo delivered. The A320-271N, MSN 10904, registered OE-LZN and still in plain white color, is ferried from Toulouse to Vienna as flight OS1472 as this comment is published and is due to arrive there around 1800LT. The aircraft will then be ferried to Austrian Technik at Bratislava, where it is due to receive its red-and-white livery, before being put into service with the Austrian flag carrier.

The addition of Premium Economy seats in Austrian's B777 fleet goes together with a reduction of Business Class seats from 38 to 32 - and an addition of 14 further Economy seats by 14 to 258.

Austrian's B777 will then have this seating:

C 32 (old: 38)
W 40 (old: 24)
Y 258 (old: 244)

Indeed, but it adds 34 to the total seating, almost doubling W capacity which seems to be quite popular. And perhaps C wasn't that easy to sell in bigger numbers.

I almost made the same mistake :? : 32+40+258=330; 38+24+244=306; so net gain is 24 seats. ;)

Flew their premium economy to IAD recently and was pleasantly surprised: spacious, good seats, excellent service, good IFE, ...
Flew premium economy on LH, UA and SN previously, but OS was definitely the best of all of them.

The first 320neo will first see commercial action on the "racetrack" VIE-LHR, beginning with 19 October. Let's hope it will fly to BRU as well one day...

Plus 2 ex-LH/EW A320SL, so should be 67 in total.

Austrian's first 320neo was AOG with an issue of the electronic engine control system for about 24hrs. Since then, it flew only one rotation to BCN and is still under maintenance until possibly 26.10.
