Kind of disagree on this. AC and Air Transat have french speaking crew (native, I mean) from YUL. Of course it would be better for SN if AC would discontinue its own flights to YUL and concentrate on YYZ, which is a better hub for them to other North American destinations.
And sadly enough, AC has a much better product than SN on their 787 fleet. Curious about Air Transat with their new A321LR. Probably pretty good too!
