Buzz (the new name of the Ryanair subsidiary in Poland) took delivery of one B737-800, serial 44777, transferred from its parent Ryanair.

Eindhoven Airport: Dutch Regulator ACM - Autoriteit Consument en Markt - rejects complaint by Ryanair
Besluit op klacht Ryanair over tarieven Eindhoven Airport 2019

De Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM) heeft aan de hand van klachten van Ryanair beoordeeld of Eindhoven Airport heeft voldaan aan de regels voor het vaststellen van de tarieven en voorwaarden per 1 april 2019. De ACM oordeelt dat de klachten van Ryanair over de tarieven en voorwaarden van Eindhoven Airport ongegrond zijn.

Sinds 1 mei 2018 geldt voor Eindhoven Airport de verplichting om jaarlijks tarieven en voorwaarden vast te stellen volgens de procedure in de Wet luchtvaart. Op 30 oktober 2018 heeft Eindhoven Airport voor het eerst tarieven en voorwaarden vastgesteld die in werking zijn getreden per 1 april 2019. Gebruikers van de luchthaven, waaronder luchtvaartmaatschappijen, hebben de mogelijkheid om over deze tarieven en voorwaarden klachten in te dienen bij de ACM.

Volgens Ryanair heeft Eindhoven Airport niet alle informatie verstrekt waartoe zij verplicht was. Bovendien zou Eindhoven Airport onvoldoende hebben gereageerd op haar brieven en zienswijze in de consultatieprocedure. Tot slot stelt Ryanair dat de kortingsregeling op het passagierstarief op basis van de bezettingsgraad van een vliegtuig discriminerend is.

De ACM heeft op basis van de klachten van Ryanair geen overtreding van de regels gevonden door Eindhoven Airport.

Ryanair is adding new Krakow (Poland) – Kharkiv (Ukraine) nonstop service on 21 June 2019 with B737-800 operated by subsidiary Buzz.

On 12th April 2019, The European Court will publish its judgement in the case "State aid for Ryanair by Hahn Airport".

(Initially posted in the Lufthansa topic because Lufthansa filed the complaint)

Ryanair may have €10 million in added costs for 2019, due to the B737 MAX grounding, says financial firm, and remains interested in a partnership with Alitalia, but only in terms of domestic flights.

Lufthansa lost its court challenge against millions of euros in state aid being granted to Frankfurt-Hahn airport to the benefit of Ryanair, after failing to prove the payments dented its revenue or market share.

Test-Aankoop / Test-Achats isn't protesting against the 25 € fee.

Test-Aankoop / Test-Achats is protesting because it's a fixed charge, and therefore has to be shown at the beginning of the booking = when "the baby" has been added to the booking. Ryanair initially only states that a charge will show up later in the booking process, and that is illegal in Belgium indeed.

During a hearing with Dutch autority "ILT / Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport", the Dutch consumer organization Consumentenbond has asked that Dutch supervising authority for EU-Rule 261/2004 to confirm that the massive 2018 strikes were no extraordinary circumstances.

The Consumentenbond refers to a verdict from the European Court of Justice (17/04/2018) and to judgements from lower Dutch courts, all stating that Ryanair had the possibility to prevent the strike, and/or aggreviated the strike by its harsh policy towards employees.

The Consumentenbond has asked the ILT to penalize Ryanair for its rejection of obvious claims (penalty that will result in a legal basis for the indemnity as per 261/2004).

After the massive strike by Ryanair pilots in/around October 2018, Ryanair closed its base at Eindhoven, giving the Dutch pilots the choice between relocation abroad or end of contract.

Eight Ryanair pilots went to court, and a Dutch judge has just ruled in favour them. Ryanair must pay each of them salary and indemnity between 380.000 and 480.000 Euro.

Edit: the choice Ryanair gave them, was a relocation or becoming a "mobile pilot", meaning they would get a new base every 3 months.

Just one of the 100 newspaper reports about an incident from Saturday:
A 15-YEAR-OLD boy with severe autism was prevented from boarding a Ryanair flight after becoming distressed when the airline tried to charge a baggage fee for his tiny comfort doll, his mother has claimed. Leo was travelling with his carer from Alicante Airport to the UK on April 27 when the incident occurred. His mother, Helen Estella, took to social media after the incident claiming the low-cost airline would not let them board. Helen explained: "my son Leo, he is 15, has severe autism and the mental capacity of a 3 year old.. who tonight Ryanair refused to let fly home because he was distressed when they wouldn't let him have his doll and demanded payment for it as hand luggage."

Ryanair currently charge passenger £25 if trying to check a piece of luggage in at the gate.

She said police were called, who then surrounded him before they touched him and "threatened him with injections", leading to him becoming agitated and distressed. Helen said: "If they had any autism awareness they would have know this would always escalate to a meltdown."

Thankfully, Leo was able to get on a Jet2 flight later that day. Helen praised the actions of Jet2 staff, who helped to calm Leo down and got him a full row of seats on his flight home. Helen wrote: "In desperation his carer went to the Jet2 desk to beg for help and they were outstanding. "Anna and Mark were outstanding ground Jet2 staff. They stayed with Leo from when they bought new tickets at the desk and have been sat on the floor with him as he was so frightened to board the plane trying to calm and reassure him.
The Sun writes that Ryanair denies that they were refused boarding, and Ryanair denies that they were charged for the doll:
Ryanair responded on Twitter, saying: "We are sorry to hear this. Please submit a complaint here contactform.ryanair.com and out customer service department to investigate." However, a spokesperson told the Sun Online Travel that the family were not prevented from boarding as they did not make it to the Ryanair boarding gate. They explained: "This teenage passenger and his carer were provided with special assistance by Alicante airport after checking in. (All such assistance in Alicante is provided by the Airport Authority). "At passport control, the teenager became agitated and aggressive towards his carer and the carer took the decision not to travel. The passengers were then taken to the airport medical assistance team where the upset passenger received sedation. "As these two passengers never arrived at the Ryanair Boarding gate, their luggage was offloaded at the request of Alicante passport control staff, who advised Ryanair’s gate agents that they had decided not to travel. "These two passengers did not arrive at the boarding gate, and therefore, they were not 'denied boarding' and neither were they charged for any hand luggage."
