Wizz Air to re-launch Ukrainian subsidiary in 2019

Provided that all official authorizations and permit will be received in time, Wizz Air plans to re-launch Wizz Air Ukraine, that was closed downdue to the instability of the political and economic situation in Ukraine in 2015.

A re-launch was deemed profitable by Wizz Air CEO József Váradi as he stated that there is a quickly growing demand for LCC flights in Ukraine and could also positively influence the already growing tourism sector. The plans include an investition of USD 2.5 billion over five years to build up a fleet of up to 20 aircraft (both A320 and A321) that would be based on Ukrainian airports.

The plans are likely to counter the move of rival Ryanair that is currently heavily targeting the growing Ukraininan market.
