ASEM summit in Brussels on Oct.18-19. Expected: president Moon Jae-in (South Korea), Prime ministers Shinzo Abe (Japan), Li Keqiang (China) and Dmitry Medvedev (Russia) amongst others.

Agenda highlights

The 12th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit will take place on 18-19 October 2018 in Brussels, Belgium.

The ASEM summit will bring together:
  • heads of state or governments of 51 European and Asian countries
  • representatives of the European Union
  • the Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
European Council President, Donald Tusk will chair the summit. European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker will also represent the EU at the summit.

Discussions will focus on the theme "Europe and Asia: global partners for global challenges".

Leaders will seek to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the two continents on a wide range of areas, including:
  • trade and investment
  • connectivity
  • sustainable development and climate
  • security challenges such as terrorism, non-proliferation, cyber-security, irregular migration

After the Vietnam B789 meant to park at EBMB landed on 25R, it seems there is sometimes a weird logic behind those landings... ;)

Yes, I know that not even all the heads of states arrived (KE 747 should come in from LIRF), but are there already any preliminary times for departure? Would be lovely if they all (at least the Asians) stayed until Saturday, when 25R/07L is closed down... ;)
