Which is weird because LGG has 470 hectares available but the closest to the track the better ofc ;)
L'echo mentions Fedex is asking for 110 hectares for expansion before 2040...
Vague hidden unwritten plans seldom win.

The latest information now mentions 5 to 6 widebodies per day.
That's very different obviously.

Hard to say which airline will benefit from this ... maybe Fedex who discovered alibaba isn't all negative after all

Article in financial newspaper De Tijd: "the Alibaba megadeal... not".

https://www.tijd.be/ondernemen/luchtvaa ... 79345.html

In brief:

The Walloon government and Liège Airport have given Alibaba grounds very close to the runway ("first line slots"). But Alibaba doesn't need such valuable ground because they don't need it for urgent handlings. FedEx however wants to expand at LGG, and they need those first line slots that now have geen given to Alibaba.

The investment will not be as big as announced. And the number of employment that has been promised, cannot be realized with the investment.

It's even not certain that the biggest investment by Alibaba = the logistics centre will be build at LGG. Other regions are more favourable, like the Maastricht industrial region. If so, Alibaba will only use LGG as transit airport.

Maybe FedEx will now move some activities to Paris because they can't optimalize their ops at LGG.

Same story in french here
https://www.lecho.be/economie-politique ... 79363.html

Lets hope the journalist did this to open everyone's eyes.
If nothing is started, nothing is lost.
But its now time politics plan on long term instead of enjoying the short term victory.

That's a noble wish, my dear... but have they ever been known to do that in the past? Even when there were no elections coming up? Perhaps the Yalta conference was the last time... close on 74 years ago. So, yes I quite agree, it is time, and high time, on this subject as on many. But I am not holding my breath.

I would get rid of both of them. And the first one certainly does not have the competence and the intellectual capacity to be Chairman of the Board.

And suddenly the 1st line warehouse of cainiao could be the same as the one needed by abc, and 1st line is needed indeed.
L'echo/detijd can now do another article.
