Sabiha Gokcen Airport will have a second runway possibly by the end of this year. After that, they have plans to close the first runway to give a good well deserved maintenance. Once the first runway comes back to operations and both runways running together I think PGS will increase their flight numbers from SAW further. Currently in summer SAW's runway traffic is extremely heavy and restricting PGS to launch more destinations. By the way they have no immediate plans to use the new Istanbul airport apart from their current Izmir flight. They have stated after second or third stage of Istanbul airport they may think about using it more.

Finally! SAW is too congested indeed.
Do you have any map with the new layout?
I wish they converted Atatürk into a low-cost facility, it's so well-situated comparing to the other two Istanbul airports!

See this link for the new layout: https://images.app.goo.gl/fLHXy7WHrPRbDzAf6 (it will re-direct you to the news website)

For Ataturk airport, the current government and the head of it want make the place a big garden "Millet Bahcesi" and exhibition centre

Until the cargo facilities ready at the new airport yes. Also Ataturk airport will be only open for VIP and some general aviation. But it will be like a very small airport with very limited flights eventually. The government wants everybody use the new airport. The land will be turn into a park some buildings will turn into places that exhibitions can be held.

stefanel I see Tekirdag Corlu (TEQ) airport as the potential low cost airport but the emphasis are on SAW and new Istanbul airport.
