Mitsubishi is expected to buy the Bombardier CRJ Program. Bombardier had talks with multiple possible buyers, but is now in exclusive talks with Mitsubishi, according to two persons. The take-over possibly will be announced at this month's Paris Air Show. This would mean the complete end for Bombardier in the commercial aircraft branch.

In the article is stated that two persons said this, so I Don't know how trustworthy this is.

Mitsubishi rebrands its MRJ as SpaceJet. A strange name for a plane that certainly will never fly to outer space! Anyway, we shall rebrand this thread as MRJ/SpaceJet.

Bombardier to suspend its lawsuit against Mitsubishi and eventually drop it once the deal for selling the CRJ programme to Mitsubishi closes.

Mitsubishi Aircraft (Japan) is seeking a sixth postponement on delivering its SpaceJet, with a new target date to be set as soon as November 2019. Outside experts will be consulted to help set the new date, while compensation may be granted to customers.

Bad news for Mitsubishi: the company just announced that Trans States has cancelled its order for 50 M90 Spacejets, and options for 50 more. An order that was unlikely to ever materialise given the scope clause restrictions in the U.S. that limit the size of the aeroplane regional carriers can fly, says US aviation expert Jon Ostrower.

Future discussions will be focused on the scope compliant M100.

Mitsubishi Aircraft says the SpaceJet programme is making progress toward the launch of the aircraft. The company is closing in on type certification for the M90, but it is not expected by the mid-2020 target.

The planemaker believes it can rake in another 400 orders in early 2020 — likely to be MOUs.

Mitsubishi Aircraft has unannounced commitments from customers to buy hundreds (!) of its SpaceJet M100 jets, but its first focus is on certifying its larger introductory model, the M90.

Mitsubishi Aircraft further says the M200 will carry about 100 passengers and arrive about two years after first delivery of the 65-88-seat M100, now scheduled for 2024.

Another victim of the COVID-19 crisis: Mitsubishi “consolidates all activities back to Japan” and will close its U.S. operations for the troubled SpaceJet programme.

Mitsubishi Aircraft will more than halve its 2,000 workforce as part of restructuring, and close its US headquarters, a development centre in Canada and sales offices in the US and Europe. It will also reorganize the development team with Chief Development Officer Alex Bellamy stepping down.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries denies reports that it will stop the development of the SpaceJet programme, as it is in the process of reviewing the programme schedule. An announcement will be made very soon.
