Boeing is in discussions to sell B737 MAX jets to Alaska Air Group once the plane returns to service following a lengthy grounding. The talks are part of a series of negotiations between Boeing and several airlines over jet orders or compensation after the B737 MAX was banned worldwide.

Ryanair has said it expects the B737 MAX plane to be allowed to fly again in the US in the next month or so. The carrier hopes to start taking delivery of the planes early in 2021.

737 MAX declared "safe" by EASA.

I'll wait some time to be on board again (flew twice on it, even a few days after the first crash)...

Little confidence in this sudden turnaround, no doubt caused by economic pressures ... we will have to find out from now on the type of aircraft that operates the service or choose the company accordingly!

The aicraft has been grounded for more then a year, with enormous amounts of work been done behind the scenes. Why you call this a "sudden turnaround" is beyond me and in bad faith.

FAA Administrator Steve Dickson tells IASS 2020 that he expects the 737 MAX recertification process "to be completed in the not-too-distant future. We are making excellent progress. We continue to narrow the issues & work milestone by milestone." There is no 'set schedule.'

China’s aviation regulator said that authorities have not set a timetable on when the Boeing 737 MAX jet would return to service in the country. Re-certification of the plane could be used as a bargaining chip in the trade war with the US, and Boeing stands to lose a lot since Chinese companies have placed big orders.

American Airlines to defer deliveries of 18 B737 MAX jets scheduled to be delivered in 2021-22 until 2023-24, and the carrier would need a “substantial improvement in the demand environment” to justify taking the jets before then.

Southwest Airlines will take delivery of no more than 48 B737 MAX jets through the end of 2021 and is in discussions with Boeing to restructure its order book.

Southwest Airlines is evaluating 140-150 passenger jet market, namely the A220 and B737 MAX 7, as a replacement to its B737-700s that are coming up for retirement over the next several years.

Boeing said it has 450 737Max jets in storage. It expects to delivery about half by the end of next year and the majority of the rest in 2022. That's down from its Q2 estimates of delivering the majority within one year of the resumption deliveries.

Pobeda announced a tender for the provision of consulting legal services for the termination or restructuring of operating lease agreements for five B737 MAX aircraft.

Pobeda expects deliveries of the first B737-800s from Aeroflot in 2021, and is considering the possibility of expanding the fleet with the A320neo in the future. The carrier is still mulling its B737 MAX order.

Ryanair expects delivery of its first B737 MAX-200 in early 2021 and approximately 30 MAXs before peak summer 2021. Compensation discussions will not be finalized or concluded with Boeing until the MAX returns to service and revised delivery schedules can be finalized and agreed.

Southwest Airlines is in talks with Boeing and lessors to acquire as many as 30 B737 MAX aircraft that have lost their original buyers.

Air Lease does not anticipate taking delivery of any B737 MAX aircraft until the 1Q 2021. And through now, ALC has cancelled orders it had with Boeing for 19 MAX aircraft.

Boeing reports more cancellations of its B737 MAX jets, as customers cancelled 12 orders in October 2020, including four MAX by CDB Aviation, one by Smartwings, and three by Oman Air. Boeing posted no new orders and delivered 13 aircraft to customers in October.

FAA is considering new safety-related penalties or other enforcement action against Boeing, even as they prepare to allow the B737 MAX fleet back soon.
