On a sidenote, 179 temporary cabin crew contract, ealier than foreseen, has been made permanent wich is quiet a lot. I guess we can expect a significative growth of the production next year with probably a 10th a330

Is that not what they already announced as part of their expansion in Europe this year (Summer 2023) which was 10% with x number of additional aircraft, etc.?

From what I heard there will be another growth next year on both short and long haul but still to be confirmed

That's not a fleet renewal topic, but crew renewal! ;)

All,

Is it already known which A319 will be replaced by A320neo? I assume it will be A319 that will require soon 'heavy' maintenance and/or repainting, but not sure about that ...
I also do not know whether there is a big capacity difference between the current A320 and the A320neo. Anyone insights on that?

Sorry if these questions have been answered already somewhere else, you can redirect to other threads.

Cheers,
Danny

Regarding the capacity A320 vs A320neo in term of pax this will be the same 180 pax. There is not such a big difference from the pax side. Just some feature like a better lighting, more quiet environnement and some more space for the cabin bag.

The main difference is in term of operation as those aircraft use less fuel and are more quiet (noise restriction at airports). This will make this aircraft much cheaper to operate.

Also the fact it use less fuel will give the opportunity to fly longer flight with no restriction. An exemple is Cabo Verde. When SN was operating the flight, as it was a long one, there were weight restriction, it was then not possible to take 180pax on the flight. Should SN reintroduce those flight, we could fly with a full load to those destination.

Lots of people are leaving the company for other airlines, like Air France or KLM. Or they seek jobs elsewhere outside aviation.

It's a good sign that they hire new people, but I am afraid that the understaffing will remain throughout Summer 2023.

So it's better to avoid Brussel Airlines this summer to avoid cancelations?

It’s a problem in pretty much every airline right now… far from being an issue at SN only, very far.

In the mean time, OO-SNQ, 34th A32s just arrived home after some maintenance in Ljubjana and a fresh painting in East Midland. It will start revenue flight in the coming days.

The SN 45-aircraft fleet is now fully ready to tackle the busy summer month, consisting of:

2 CRJ900 operated by City Jet
16 A319
18 A320
9 A330

Delivery of A320neo's will soon start as well as a replacement of the A319

OO-SNQ also sports the Star Alliance livery now. 4th one in the SN fleet.
