Hello Vonsmalhaussen

Most likely i'll be there. Especially if there will come more EU-meeting
planes, have almost seen none of them, jus 2 (Polish Airforce YAK-42,
and the RAF BAe 146-CC2 statesman)

Also any big EU-meeting planes expected ?

Maybe see you than, and some others.

Thanks for the information.

Best regards: Yannick

Are you sure that the Air force one will come to Brussel and it wont be directed to Melsbroek or another military base? I think that when they will see us 'spotting Bush' they will send us home with our cameras :)

well, Melsbroek : that's just the Military side of BRU  so if landings are on 25, it will be 25R, i don't see Bush landing on, let us say Beauvechain ; the nearest A.F. base apart of Melsbroek :?
as for security, yep, police will be very nervous that day

Hello everyone.

I have again another question about AirForce One.

There are 2 Airforce One's , and according to what i've heard and
what i also think , is that they're always flying together. So that would
mean that there would come 2 Airforce One's to BRU.

You guy's (the ones who saw the Airforce One a couple of years ago @BRU) will probably know more about it than me. It could also be that
he's alone, because a whole wile ago there were those USAF 747's at
Eindhoven (if i'm not mistaking) for some kind of meeting, it were just
the backup-planes ( like the second AirForce One , and also a weir Radar/
communication B747 , the E-4B i think . So are these coming to BRU too?

So this is the E-4B where i was talking about in Eindhoven.

And here the first Airforce one(28000)
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/729426/M/
and ofcourse number 2 (29000)

Note that the plane where Bush is actually flying in is called Air Force One, most of the cases it's a specially equipped Boeing 747. If Bush decides to come to EBBR in a Cessna, the Cessna is called 'Air Force One'.

It is true that two identical 747's are most usually used as presidential planes. It is also true that wich ever plane the presidenst is flying on is called 'Air Force 1'. If he's flying a helicopter though, this heli is called 'marine 1'

Air Force One = USAF aircraft with the president on board. If it's a US Army aircraft, callsign is Army One, and so on...

When Bush came to Paris in june 2004, he flew with 92-9000, the other one, 82-8000, was spare aircraft. I noticed that 92-9000 had more antennas than 82-8000. In fact, they have more and more antennas
If you wanna see photos taken by a friend : http://provenceairspot.free.fr/af1.php

Note that in 1999, there was only one 747 at ORY, with a 707 (C-137C). I suppose the other 747 was on maintenance.

The last time when Bush was in BRU there was only 1 747 and the 707 here. I heard that the second 747 was standing in MAD. But I'm not sure about it, so don't shoot me if I'm wrong.
The last time that Clinton was here, the 2 747's came over.

What we will see probably allot is the C-5 Galaxy with all the equipment. Last time almost 10 flights came in.

Hello everybody.

Thanks Brubiac, that's the info i needed. And wooooow C-5 Galaxy's...
i don't want to miss that. Do you expect to see a C-5 the day that Bush
comes to BRU too? Else i need to go a couple of days earlier to BRU too.

And in the most perfect case i would say this to come;

-B742
-B742
-E4B
-VC 32
-C5-and maybe also a C17.

So lets hope.... :D :D :D

If there's an E-4, it won't be based on the same airport.
There will be certainly both VC-25, 28000 and 29000.
C-32 ? Maybe. At ORY in 2002 and 2004 they served for Normandy, because VC-25 couldn't land at Caen-Carpiquet.

What could be interesting is US Marine Corps helicopters, VH-3D and VH-60N, it means C-5 and/or C-17 to bring them ;)

Two remarks:

1) Bush will arrive on 21/02 for a meeting at NATO on 22/02, followed by meetings with the European Union leaders.

2) I saw Clinton twice arriving at GVA with Air Force 1 in the 90ies. The usual scenario was that the day before two C-5 Galaxy arrived with the equipment: armoured limousines, surveillance helicopters, etc. On the day of arrival of Air Force One, the presidential 747 was immediately followed by another 747 with the journalists.

For the press :
ORY 2002 : United Airlines 747-400
ORY 2004 : United Airlines 767-300

It would be nice to see all those nice planes over here in BRU.

ehamspotter: What do you mean with your post  Air Force one will land in Melsbroek, which is the military part of BRU. It's the same airport !!!! And secondly, NO I don't think that the police will be chasing the spotters. Last time that Air Force One came in BRU, the police simply checked all spotters and allowed them to take pictures.

I hope that this will clarify your questions.

Chris
