TUI fly postpones the launch of Antwerp-Tel Aviv flights again, until late September. Is it because Ryanair resumes Tel Aviv flights from Charleroi on 1 February?

I guess it is due to less demand on that route.

After years of full media coverage for each and every anti-airport campaign, like these ones with literally less than dozen protesters:
https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2023/03/30 ... en-deurne/
https://www.hln.be/antwerpen/doe-deurne ... ~ae71051b/

finally 1 local politician took a pro-airport initiative, with an online petition https://petitie.be/petitions/ja-voor-lu ... ?locale=en

Brasserie Belair is closed since last Thursday (22/03):

It's bankruptcy indeed (source: KBO-BCE).
Let's hope that EGIS drops its "market-based rent" principle.

The city of Borsbeek (also bordering the airport) also objects to a new license:
https://www.gva.be/cnt/dmf20240412_96404897

Apart from the arguments one could expect, Borsbeek also argues that there is a protected population of bats in 'Fort 3': a defense building, built in 1864, and close to 29 indeed, as this photo shows:
https://www.gva.be/cnt/dmf20180411_03457967
(though the bats I see around my place, fly very low. I can't imagine a bat strike at ANR)

Luxair is (temporarily?) removing the ANR -LUX connection. Official reason: pilot shortage.

Newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen reports that Antwerp Airport will most likely get a new environment permit from Zuhal Demir, Flemish minister for Environment. That's because a Flemish advisory board has advised a positive rating, however with some changes:
- morning flights only as from 07h00 (today 06h30);
- flights scheduled for arrival before 22h30, but delayed, will be allowed to land (today: divertion);
- no stop and go training flights during the weekend after Saturday 14h. Normal training flights: no change.

Some 10 climate vandals have blocked one entrance to one building at Antwerp Airport.

Police arrested 5 of them.

Limited damage to flight operations.

No recent annual accounts - so probably an expected end.
