The road leading towards Brussels Airport has been blocked by angry farmers.

Article on the homepage:
A 24-hour strike, tomorrow 12 September, organised by the unions will cause significant disruptions at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. This was announced by the airport operator’s management in a press release. “Flights will be cancelled, and it is highly recommended to travel with hand luggage only,” it stated.

Due to the strike call for airport staff, the airport operator will preemptively reduce its operational capacity to 25%, and flights will be cancelled. Affected passengers, both arriving and departing, will be contacted by their airline, according to Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA).

“It is highly recommended to travel only with hand luggage, as we cannot guarantee the handling of checked luggage,” the advice reads for those who still have a flight. Passengers are also advised to check their flight status before heading to the terminal.

No flights at all at CRL at this moment: runway is blocked by the unions.

I don't think the runway is blocked by the unions: business aircraft are taking off and landing. Of course, their terminal is on the opposite side of the airport compared to the passenger terminal.

It was a message from early this morning.
The blockage probably didn't last all day.

No barbecue possible on the runway

It seems obvious to me that if they have not yet cancelled the flights for tomorrow there will be flights again from tomorrow.
Hasta la victoria siempre.

Severe disruptions on 1 October at BRU, due to a general strike at the security sector.
Brussels Airlines is cancelling "the majority" of their flights that day.
