Also, it seems obvious to me that he is well aware: the max. capacity can only be added when fuel tanks are completely empty. Which ought to occur rarely, only after certain maintenance procedures.
Pilots don’t add a certain quantity, they request a certain amount of fuel on board. Automatic shutoff valves prevent overfilling in case max fuel is requested. So pilots taking too much fuel is nonsense, indeed, as Lux_avi wrote. A problem with these shut off valves or the jettison valves probably caused the problem.

That is the phrase that apparently misled me: it implies that pilots do order a quantity of fuel.Pilots cannot order more fuel than the max capacity of the tanks

FCW already explained. Pilots ask for the amount of fuel they need on board. Not the quantity of fuel to be uplifted.jan_olieslagers wrote: ↑28 Jul 2024, 21:49 What then is the sense ofThat is the phrase that apparently misled me: it implies that pilots do order a quantity of fuel.Pilots cannot order more fuel than the max capacity of the tanks

Again very long waiting queues at BRU immigration to enter the country this morning. It seems after all this time, still no progress has been made?

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-KJK-LGG-OST in 2024
If some people are wondering why Brussels Airlines canceled its flight to Kigali / Nairobi today. It's because there is a stike at Nairobi Airport from workers who agaisnt the a planned takeover by an Indian business group. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c3rdg13z1j7o
I guess that the crew shift is at Nairobi and not Kigali and most of all flights between Nairobi and Kigali were canceled so i think it's not possible to send the crew to Kigali to make the crew shift and to operate the flight to Kigali and avoid the stop at Nairobi.

Sabena Engineering has a maintenance contract for KLM A333 and KLM E175. Those A333s have been coming in on a nearly weekly basis for quite some months now.
