Yep! Aerotranscargo (Moldova) has reactivated another B747-400BDSF, serial 24998 (ex-Air Cargo Global), after the aircraft was in storage in Liege for the last year.

DSV: Our first Asian Wings flights are taking off from Liege Airport!
We are very proud to announce our first Asian Wings flights. This is another step forward to extend our own controlled air capacity in Belgium. We are offering our customers direct flights to Hong Kong with outstanding service at very competitive pricing. From Hong Kong we offer an extended road feeder network that allows our customers to connect to any airport in China.

Asian Wings rotations LGG/HKG resume with 2 x 747F full charters:

• Tuesday // LGT6603 // LGG ETD 1300 - HKG ETA 0730+1
• Thursday // LGT6603 // LGG ETD 1300 - HKG ETA 0730+1
all times UTC
Note : they are using VQ-BWS 744

Thanks for the info!
I have the impression that Liège is gaining back flights: Uzbekistan, Air Bridge, more Qatars?, today again 2 x Ural Airlines, ...

Cheers,

LGG seems to get the Ural which used to come to AMS, but Air Bridge increased flights to AMS to sometimes 5 a day (though usually around 2 - 3 a day). If someone can explain me the logic then please (I would have guessed that based on their press release they would do all the increases at LGG).

BTW does QR come to LGG with its pax aircraft? I ask as I see they send their pax 77Ws regulary to MST nowadays and wondered if there is some logic to this.

Honesty it looks like a mess
Many airlines seems to pick one of the surounding airports without logic and it can change everyday.
This kind of madness is also common, like these 2, today only.

I guess they just go wherever business is, without beeing too exclusive to a single hub... (or wherever fuel is cheaper ?)

Now, I still suspect LGG can't answer all requests due to uncontrolled growth
This story give a clue in that direction:

Charleroi personnel who are technically unemployed could find work in Liège. Temporary unemployed people from Brussels Airport also started working there earlier.
