Is an airport on the sea shore the best place to store aircraft ? It's usually done in desert or at least in a very dry enviromnent !

I was also wondering. We still remember the brand new NH-90 helicopters of the Belgian Air Force suffering corrosion problems at their homebase Koksijde.

Yet again if its not BRU, LGG or CRL the guys of Aviation 24 don't care:

https://www.hln.be/in-de-buurt/oostende ... ~a4575afd/

Mr Buelens gave a hint last week, but aviation24 crew didn't go for a full force in picking up his comment and tried to find out who was "the new kid on the block" starting last Sunday on EBOS.

Now which are the owned 4 747's of the Hong Yuan group? At the moment they are using 747's from other companies...
No more space at LGG???

We do care if we have the information, but personally I don't have a subscription to HLN. Thanks for bringing the information to our attention ;)

Edit: the first flight was mentioned in the OST 09/08/2020 spotters' forum:

Good news for Ostend airport, the much needed warehouses are on their way.
The Versluys group(*) has signed a agreement with the airport to build 45000 square meters of new buildings.

a Canadian cargo airline is negociating to have a hub at EBOS for its European operations.
A Icelandic group is also involved in this.

Hongyuan group has finally signed a agreement with Ostend airport.
Mukden logistics who are using Zeebrugge port will also be using EBOS for their airfreight to and from China.
Both companies see EBOS as a new gateway to Europe.

Mr Buelens is delighted to see this new group at the airport and is still in negociations with other cargo companies.
But on the other hand he knows the current restrictions of the airport and hopes that the current cargo handling companies will do their best to expand.(read hire extra staff)

New warehouses should be ready by the end of 2021...if and when...
