Post by lomcovak »

The M311 was re-designated M-345 in 2012, to emphasize its complementarity with the subsequent advanced M-346 trainer. The most recent configuration, M-345 HET (High Efficiency Trainer), has benefited from various modifications, such as the use of a roof, seats and other parts in common with the M-346, a longer nose and an engine. more modern, always turbofan, with a thrust value of around 1 600 kgf (Williams FJ44-4M). The new prototype is flown for the first time on December 29, 2016 from Varese-Venegono airport, under the commands of test pilots Quirino Bucci and Giacomo Iannelli of the Aircraft Division of Leonardo Aircraft. [9] In December 2018, the first flight was also made from the first series model of the M-345 HET.
In May 2020 the M-345 obtained the initial certification which for the first time includes the new AER (EP) P-21 rule for fixed wing aircraft and which in turn integrates the EMAR-21 - (European Military Airworthiness Requirements ), a stringent international requirement which is very useful in view of the train's removal abroad.
