Transavia to postpone its 2020 launch to 2021, due to COVID-19 outbreak.

if anyone's wondering, Transavia France route from Montpellier and Brussels is maintained, with the first flight on 5 April 2020.

Not yet canceled, but postponed. Here is an interview of the Montpellier Airport director, today (in French)

I checked about 30 minutes ago and these flights were still bookable from 5 April, we will see if this postpone will happen, which seems to be probable.

For Transavia France MPL-BRU route, there's a launch flight on 5 April (good luck to get home thereafter from MPL!), and then the next flight is on 30 April.

Text:COVID-19 : PASSENGER FLIGHTS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE BTN 0500UTC AND 1900UTC

At the start of the summer season, passenger flights will be allowed to operate at BRU only from 0700 to 2100 local time (UTC+2). No night flights anymore, and it is an extended night!

You're not correct about this: https://www.tijd.be/dossiers/coronaviru ... 909#729288

According to De Tijd:
During the week, cargo flights doos not have restrictions for night flights at BRU
And also, Brussels is not giving fines at the moment for the noise restriction.

Danish airline Sun-Air of Scandinavia, flying in the colours of British Airways. As of 7 September, Sun-Air will start with 10 flights a week between Billund and Brussels. This will guarantee the connection between Brussels Airport and the Danish LEGO-city. Welcome on board!

I'm glad that destination is back. I don't have any figures, obviously, but I couldn't understand Brussels Airlines dropping that destination.

Try flying it with A319's with sufficient frequency (which is a requirement for this route due to the business type traffic) and in the current situation there's no place for an ACMI contract like that with CityJet.

Same reason as why Bristol and Hannover are taken out of the schedule at least till spring 2021.

Sun-Air takes the right approach: a Do-328 seats 32 people, vs 90 seats onboard the Dash 8. In September, it is not even sure those 32 seats will be sold.

Also Walter Aviation, who was flying for EuroWngs had quite a few of this planes.

Prices will be low for this type of plane.

Do-328 will be the smaller airplane landing in Brussels for scheduled flight if I'm not mistaken.

I like Dash 8 but this is a slow aircraft and for non aviation-enthousiast as us, a turboprop always seems to be an old brol

Dash 8 slow? ATR is slow. Dash 8 on short sectors is hardly a few minutes slower than a jet

Dash 8 old? Having flown the Dash 8 and 737 I can tell you the 737NG is a lot less modern than the Dash 8 Q400.

It still pisses me off to read that people have no respect for turboprops and their pilots.
It shows people have no idea what they are talking about
