ASL will take delivery of two ex Air Bridge Cargo B747: besides the OE-IFK also OE-IFM. Good question about the Austrian registrations but a lot (if not the most) of their fleet has Austrian registrations.

My guess would be efficiency of certain authorities and the time it takes to get a job done...?

This "BCF", Boeing Converted Freighter, came a long way.
Conversion made in China (if ever the Very Stable Genius learns about that !), flew all the way around the Pacific then made a 2-day stop in Jacksonville (a 7h11 flight from Anchorage) ending in SNN, all under registration N547CC (for only 9 days).

Further to our partnership with NCA, we were delighted to welcome our new Queen OE-IFK in Liège last Saturday.
The aircraft arrived from Shannon where it was painted white and ASL Airlines titles will now be added in Liege.
OE-IFK is the fourth B747-400F in the ASLB fleet and will boost our operational agility significantly. The aircraft will be the first to operate for the new ASLB-NCA partnership, with flights expected to start about mid-October.
