I would have chosen 2x4x3 or 3x4x2.
No doubt because of balance. The seating you propose would certainly be felt on the flight deck...

I remember a lot of MD11's were in a 3-4-2 configuration...

It had something to do with an uneven distribution when evacuating a plane. Cant remember what exactly, saw a Sabena report at work from 20 years ago a few months ago that addressed this issue...

dont ask me where the report is now tough ...

No balance problems at all! The block of 4 seats is not in the centre but shifted towards the 2 side.
ANA certainly had 777s with a 243 layout, in economy, a couple of years ago.

So what would be the reason for not accepting an unbalanced seating?

* Undemocratic penalty to those seated on a 3-seat row vs the blessed ones on a 2-seat bench in case of evac?
* risk of spilling coffee on the pedestal due to an overly tilted flight deck?

What about the narrow body A/C such as ERJ at 1+2, DC-9/MD80 2+3, Avros/BAe 2+3 (though some of the latter have a "6-(a)breast seating") ;)

As I understood, SN would be seasonal and additional to AC
SN will fly seasonal 5 times a week to YUL. AC will fly from both cities to BRU
Thanks for the info! So basically SN will put extra capacity in summer time to YUL and AC replaces them on YYZ. That’s a lot of capacity, combined with Air Transat
When will begin the AC flight to YYZ this summer ? Thx a lot...

Air Transat released their new Summer schedule.

The number of flights from YUL to BRU will be 3 flights with the A330.

3 carriers for the same destination. 2 carriers seasonal, 1 yearly.

Not during the whole summer season, in early May, we can find an A321neo LR flight (via their booking sys). :D

Enjoy your flight ✈️😊

Even with a lot of flights, AC is doing very well with almost 10% grow on this route.

We will see how it will be when also SN enter this route

3 brands all right, but isn't Air Transat part of Air Canada too now?
In that case, it's pretty much irrelevant who you'd fly with as these flights all fall unter the A++ joint venture, sharing all costs and revenues as if they were one single airlines?
or is Air Transat's purchase not completed yet?
Any updates on that?

I'm not really into this, but i think it matters who you are flying with. Air Transat is a lowcost airline, so you will pay less if you fly them, but the flight will also be les comfortable in comparison with Air Canada, whom will cost more to fly.

No, Air Transat is not a low cost airline and is not less comfortable than AC. Have you tried both to say such a thing?

I’d choose Air Transat over AC anytime if my final destination is YUL.
