Norwegian is still negotiating with Boeing about B737 MAX compensation. As a result of the grounding, the carrier estimates its reduced profit before tax to take a hit of more than US$100 million. Norwegian may also reintroduce its A320neos instead of leasing them out.

I don't understand why they would return them knowing it is so hard to get them and how valuable they are. I wonder whether leasing them to another airline wouln't have been a better option

Norwegian are downsizing because they’re loosing money on almost every route, not because they’re lacking aircraft.
I don’t think you can lease slots at LGW, it’s use it or loose it.

A court in England once ruled that trading of slots is possible, hence my reaction. If they have the option to do so, it seems strange not to do so.

I think trading is only allowed after the slots have been operated for two years under the use it or loose it rule.

Norwegian has called off plans for a so-called repair offering of shares as the market price has dropped below the level at which the carrier sold new equity in late 2019.
