Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Are there still A330-300 with seats of other airlines in the fleet?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
When can we expect a new Belgian icon? I thought one was foreseen this year as well?
Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I think Reckham is going away this year. Maybe they will paint that aircraft in a new icon. If there is money for it of course...HQ_BRU_Lover wrote: ↑08 Jan 2020, 10:20 When can we expect a new Belgian icon? I thought one was foreseen this year as well?

At the inauguration of Bruegel, a new icon was indeed announced for this year. But Reboot might have changed the plans...HQ_BRU_Lover wrote: ↑08 Jan 2020, 10:20 When can we expect a new Belgian icon? I thought one was foreseen this year as well?

Just a thought.
Recently LH ordered a huge number of new airplanes for the group. Of course not for SN bcs of a lot of reasons LH gave.
But look also at the mess they created. First to fire the management of SN which was able to make some profit. After the new one came and the disaster with EW started. Reboot came and the CEO again went away.
I don't understand the behavior of LH in this. LH could have much more benefits from it if they would invest more in SN. Instead of replacing 7 old A330 by other old A330 they could have ordered for SN also the new A330NEO. It would give them even a bigger discount by Airbus.
People sees SN on long haul as not reliable, constant problems etc. This gives a bad image not only to SN but also to the group.
After receiving new airplanes LH could say "OK, try to make now profit". New planes, less costs, fuel efficient, etc. More benefits in the long term then buying old planes who are on the ground with issues.
They have to become big again in Africa. Competition is eating more and more while SN cannot act
Now they left SN in a very uncertain future. They even cannot sell SN bcs the value is very low.
This is exactly the kind of shareholder who don't care

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Not sure if the NEO is a plane SN really needs. I think an a330 ceo with trent700 is ideal for the operations right now done by SN. Heck, it would even be a good thing if LH got new a350's and that the 'older' a330's go to SN.Atlantis wrote: ↑12 Jan 2020, 19:39 .

+LH did not order the A330 neo but 787's and A350's. So a discount would be rather difficult. The A350 is a plane that is too big right now for SN, the 787-9 is also a plane SN does not need right now. ( both could be nice if they'd be expanding to Asia or in the US, but right now that is not the case at all )

OO-SFC landed at Brussels Airport coming from Amman. Got straight to the T-gates, so should be operating already this morning.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
SFH will not (yet) have the new cabin, right?
Which one will be next, I mean for getting the new cabin?
Or does another one first need maintenance?
SFF?
