Report by local tv ATV (first item in their daily news):
https://atv.be/nieuws/nieuwe-luchtvaart ... nden-84477

- one passenger expected a KLM aircraft;
- one passenger was an avgeek, flying ATW100 just for fun;
- a local politician from the Greens think that people should take the train, via Brussels Zuid/Midi, to London...
And Mister Buelens compared Brussels South railway station to Kosovo. Kind of off-topic, I know.

Hi,

As I was present I can confirm 5 avgeeks / 42 Total pax.
We get a goodiebag with a pen, a remove before flight tag, some plastic ticketholder ! Haha, and some aftersun testers :)
Also a muffin was given before boarding.
Flight was good with a free drink .

No salute of the firebrigade in LCY !!!

Well the official pressmoment was the second flight !!,because press and politicians wanted their night rest :)
Only avgeeks and biz people can take the first flight for first it seems.

Well I guessed and hoped for a bit more for a new startup and new airline , in comoarison with other new startups ;) But It guess KLM need just to make money at first haha !

Will use them again for sure but that old F50 may be Nice for avgeeks but makes less an appearance for normal playing pax IMHO ..

Well good luck to WP !
Flights we're good but not special...
( 2* a delay of almost 30 minutes die ATC ? When BA is full on Strike ;) )

:)

"Bolleke" is absutely excellent, only it would face us with a problem if ever a second machine joins the fleet. That would almost unavoidably have to become "Fluitje" but I can sense from afar some potential objections there ;)

"Heel het leven wordt een lolleke
met een fluitje of een bolleke"

dixit Ed Kooyman ;)

As for the video: yes it is excellent, absolutely; the makers must have remembered the famous "Yorkshire Airlines" fake commercial, though... And for connoisseurs: the person in the right-hand seat - copilot - first officer - sounds like having roots in the Campine area east of Antwerp, rather than tStad properly... which doesn't hurt the fun, not in the least!

Is the passenger load factory for September known already?

Air Antwerp will codeshare with KLM on the flights from Amsterdam to three UK destinations: London Heathrow, Manchester and Newcastle.

https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/air- ... -capacity/

I don't get the idea behind that decision: there is no air link between Antwerp and any of these airports, thus no connectivity at all for Antwerp travellers. It's like Brussels Airlines codesharing with Luxair on the flights between Luxembourg and Saarbrucken.

I had exactly the same thinking: what’s the benefit if there is no link.🤔

I consider it as an attempt to create awareness about Air Antwerp. Who knows Manchester might become one of the next destinations for Air Antwerp, and thus allowing travellers to fly ANR-MAN-AMS or vice-versa.

One thing that keeps remarkable though: KLM is selling Air Antwerp flights at a cheaper fare level.

More expensive? Yes and no

Yes if you buy a long time before the flight.

No if you book last minute fe. Next Monday and return on Tuesday. Let's take the afternoon flights: KLM 620 EUR (basic fare) and with Air Antwerp only 264 EUR (economy).

I would expect them to sell seats on the same flight at the same fare level, since KLM is Air Antwerp's shareholder.

In a codeshare, every airline keeps the freedom to set prices at the level it wants. The only constant is the price that the airline pays to the actual operator of the flight. (That's at least the answer I got once from Johan Maertens, CEO of Air Antwerp).
