Boeing target resuming B737 MAX deliveries to airline customers in October 2019, as the company plans to add extra staff and hire “a few hundred” temporary employees at an airport in Washington state where it is storing many grounded B737 MAX.

FAA is expected to be asked to change the way it certifies planes and address safety concerns that aircraft technology is becoming far more sophisticated than the regulations that govern it.

Avia Capital Services (ACS), an aircraft leasing subsidiary of Russian conglomerate Rostec, filed a complaint with a Chicago court to request the cancellation of an order for 35 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, stating that Boeing “intentionally” failed to provide information on the reliability of the aircraft. This would be the first lawsuit against the American manufacturer since the crisis of the MAX.

United is about to fly its 737 Max Fleet, moving its 14 737 Max9 jets from Houston to short-term storage in Goodyear, Arizona. There will be no passengers on board. Ferry flights like this are allowed despite the grounding order.

American Airlines is “confident” that its B737 MAX aircraft will fly in 2019, in time for the holidays. The carrier removed its 24 MAX jets from its flying schedule through early November 2019.

Boeing says the financial fallout from the grounding of its B737 MAX jetliner would not slow the world’s largest planemaker’s appetite for deals in the higher-margin aircraft services sector. Return to service for the MAX is expected in 4Q 2019.

The move is related to weather issues: Houston is hot and humid, Arizona is dry. I wonder why they kept the aircraft so long in Houston in the first place!

American Airlines is extending cancellations for the B737 MAX through 03 December 2019, and expects recertification of the aircraft in 2019.

FAA says a blue-ribbon panel of experts around the world will need a few more weeks to finish its review into the B737 MAX certification.

United Airlines has pushed back its flight cancellations due to the B737 MAX grounding until 19 December 2019.

European regulator EASA sets strict demands for Boeing 737 MAX to return to flight:

* EASA is dissatisfied with a key detail of Boeing fix: AOA system integrity
* It wants to test-fly the MAX including wind-up turns, both with the updated MCAS and with MCAS turned off

Two US senators are calling on Boeing to display “full transparency and cooperation” with regulators reviewing changes to the 737 MAX amid reports that regulators have grown frustrated with a lack of information from the manufacturer.

Europeans will be sending their own pilots to flight test the Boeing 737 MAX.

When (the FAA) will say this is good to go, it’s very likely that international authorities will want a 2nd opinion, or a 3rd ... a very strong change in the overall worldwide hierarchy.”

Boeing handed over around a quarter as many planes in August 2019 as it did a year ago, pushing total deliveries so far this year down more than 40% amid the B737 MAX grounding. Net orders after cancellations were a negative 85 aircraft so far this year.

American Airlines is ‘confident’ that the B737 Max will be flying in 2019. It has put the aircraft in its schedule from December 3, though other carriers are not doing so until 2020.

American might have been influenced by Boeing chairman and chief executive Dennis Muilenburg, who reiterated his projection that the B737 MAX should begin to return to service around November 2019.

But a return in the U.S. might certainly not open the way for other parts of the world, as other regulatory bodies will want their own flight tests.

Cayman Airways still intends to retire and sell its B737-300 fleet, though no aircraft are expected to be sold before 2020 due to the B737 MAX delay.

UAE aviation regulator, GCAA, says the B737 MAX is unlikely to be back in service before 2020, contradicting the manufacturer’s timeline for its return.
