I'm not going on the fuel performance of this very old aircraft, with today focus on fuel savings, ecology, global warming and all, that would be the last nail on the coffin.
You want the North Sea to rise? ....Fly the F50!
Although aviation only signs for 3% of the global CO² emissions, an airline has entered the top-10 of Europe's most polluting companies (source: the EU ETS). The first nine European pollutors are coal-driven power plants. But pollutor number ten is an airline with headquarters in Dublin (and it's not Aer Lingus).
Hence, you think RYR wants sea level to raise right?
It's not a bad idea though...
A bit like you hero DT in the states, who promotes the use of plastic straw....

I didn't brought up the North Sea level rise: you did. You linked the old Air Antwerp F50 to global warming and the sea level. So I only replied that it's a bad idea to do so because aviation only signs for 3% of all CO² emissions (going up to 5% in 2040, when we keep the same growth).

But if / when you link aviation to global warning, Desert Rat, then do it correct please: not the old Air Antwerp with its F50, but Ryanair with its recent 737-800's is to be blamed.

Saturday 21st Sept 2019: MUAC OPEN DAY (Eurocontrol Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre)
Have you ever wondered what the job of an air traffic controller entails, or what an ATC centre looks like, or maybe even thought about becoming an air traffic controller yourself?

Now is your chance to get to know the answers to all your questions because EUROCONTROL's Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC) is organising an Open Day on Saturday 21 September 2019 for those young people who are interested in air traffic control.

During the Open Day you will get a guided tour of the centre, see where the air traffic controllers work, receive their training and spend their break times. You will also meet active air traffic controllers and student controllers, as well as our experts who can tell you more about what you need to become an air traffic controller and what other types of jobs and traineeship opportunities MUAC offers.

Please note that you need to pre-register for this event. Registration can only be done via this form and it is on a first come, first served basis. Only people aged between 17 and 24 years who are nationals of one of the 41 EUROCONTROL Member States may register. A valid photo ID must be presented on arrival. The entire event will be in English language, so a good level of English is required. Participants must arrange and pay for their own travel and/or accommodation, EUROCONTROL cannot cover or reimburse any expenses. Please note that this is a "No parents" event, parents or other relatives will not be admitted. Visitors will be distributed into groups and groups will start between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. In this registration form, you can sign up for your preferred starting time (if places are still available). The program lasts approximately 3 hours for each group.

Protests at Hong Kong - and the involvement of Cathay Pacific - lead to two resignations at the airline: CEO Rupert Hogg and CCO Paul Loo (CCO = chief customer and commercial officer)

BBC News: ...Paul Hogg said "These have been challenging weeks for the airline and it is right that Paul and I take responsibility as leaders of the company"...

Rwandair plans to begin flights to Brazil, after the signing of a cooperation framework agreement relating to air transport between Rwanda and Brazil.

Really? They are very ambitious, or they have deep (government) pockets!

A new Belgian record! https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2019/08/18 ... uw-record/

I had hoped they'd used a C130 to jump from, or even VLM - oops, Antwerp Airlines! - and their new old F50 :) but no, it was from two Cessna's - disappointment! Though it must have been quite an accomplishment for all these jumpers to join, from two separate droppings.

Also surprising the importance given to the jumpers' gender/sex. Wasn't that politically incorrect, these days  ?

Indeed and in these days and times I wouldn't be surprised that some may react to having these ladies referred to as "Cessna droppings".

Transavia (NL) (KLM-Group) will firmly announce to their passengers that is forbitten to take pictures and/or movies from crew and/or fellow passengers, unless with explicit agreement from them. Transavia NL will add that passengers must ensure that no other passengers or crew are recognizable when they post onboard photo's or videos on social media.

Another French airline has problems. After Aigle Azur last week, XL Airways France to meet with shareholders to discuss the situation of the company, as negotiations are underway with two buyers. The carrier is also discussing recapitalisation, as more than €20 million is needed for winter 2019/20.

KLM's PH-AOB (A330-200) is AOC at Sint-Maarten (SXM) as KL-789 since Friday evening. PH-AOB arrived as KL-789 from AMS at 15h02 local time, and was supposed to continue to Willemstad (Curacao) at 19h30 local time (triangle flight further to Amsterdam).

The Dutch repair team with parts for PH-AOB will arrive at SXM at 15h35 local time today (they're on KL-789 A330-200 PH-AOC, now airborne). Thus, and depending on the time needed for the repair, the delay for Friday's passengers will probably exceed 48 hours.

https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/ph-aob

(local time at SXM is UTC -4)
